A disciplined artist, if working in the constrains of deadlines - will works to establish balance, true composition, and execute the layout and light source to capture the setting.
This piece is in that discipline where I sketched to still life, and washed in pigments, allowing it to dry, then, building on top of other color values.

Riko Ragusa Tribute, and Peru media(s).
Here is a page tribute to my Late artist friend Richard L. Ragusa. He lived in allot of places, San Diego, Oakland and Petaluma, Ca. Norfolk, VA. New Port and Portland,OR. And of all Places Cusco, Peru, where he rests after Sept. 17th 2006.
Richard earned an AA degree in Commercial Graphic Arts from San Diego City College in 1975. He freelanced in the greater San Diego county area and landed a 15 year long Art Directorship with La Jolla firm Atomic General.
He traveled widely, enjoyed painting, coaching softball, and married an outstanding Senior Petty Officer Jan Freeman, USCG. They both had good times together.

Ragusa produced a series of Political satire Art during the Bill Clinton presidency. During 1993 and1994 Rick's studio
was in the Oakland Hills. His work shows the flow of turmoil that splintered the Clinton Presidency in the late 1990's.
Riko was a smooth talker, he was a Art Gallery Director and a Radio host in Newport, Oregon. This twice a month show was broadcasting from KNBT/CBCh Am Newport- Riko hosted "ART-TALK" the talk-Show for All of Oregon in 2002-2003. He worked the control board and believed fluid narrative professional level leadership in all he preformed at. Many of the key Oregon-Art-world professional Mr. Ragusa worked with were: • Nancy Jane Reed, then Dir. of the Newport Visual Arts Center; • Frank Gildner, then Executive Dir. of the Oregon Coast of the Arts.

| The gallery shows that Mr. Ragusa and collaborating artist were up-beat, and staged with both media coverage and cross marketing efforts with city mayors and regional dignitaries. Often there was a propose full planning to pig-back on community interest in culture exchanges with sister art association in neighboring providences. This is a Silver point etching styled in the Rembrandt discipline. circa 1997. We are unsure if the art was done in Virginia or in Petaluma, CA. However, there is a view among many- that Rick rendered his own self-portrait in the piece.The webmaster is seeking more of Mr. Ragusa's Art for new materail for this page/Keep coming back for another visit, Please. |
